Have you ever considered working with a brand and website designer for your business, but wondered if it was really worth it? While there’s plenty of information online about the generic advantages of working with a designer, we can help in more ways than you think. In this blog post, I’ll be unpacking four unheard of benefits that come when you hire a brand and website designer.
You might be thinking, “She’s just doing her job, she doesn’t actually care that much about me and my business.” And you’d be so wrong! I can’t speak for other designers, but I absolutely LOVE hyping up my clients and their businesses. When working with a brand and website designer, you’re often getting a hype-man that’s just waiting to shoutout your new business milestone or Instagram giveaway.
Outside support means a ton when it comes to running a business, and I’m here to brag on you and support you in any way I can. After all, we just spent multiple weeks together bringing your business’s brand and website to life – I want to see you succeed!
Speaking of support, you’re also practically getting a new business partner when working with a designer. Like I said, I want to see you succeed, and I’ll help you get there whenever I can!
Even from our very first Discovery Chat – I’m listening to your business goals, needs, frustrations, you name it. I’m not going to sell you something you don’t need or won’t help you with your goals. And on the other hand – if I have an idea that I think will help you in your business, I’ll make sure to let you know!
And this doesn’t just stop once our project ends – I’m here to help you for the long haul. Got some business ideas you want to brainstorm? Give me a shout and we can hop on a call! I’m offering a new design service that I think could benefit you? I’ll let you know!
For example, I recently just released a collection of website templates, and with it, a new design service. If you’re a client who isn’t quite ready in her business to invest in a fully custom website, I’d be happy to offer my new template customization service – where I’ll simply customize one of my templates for you at a reduced cost! I’m here to offer what’s best for your business, not just what’s best for my pocket.
My point is: as a designer, I’m in your corner. Think of me as one of your advisors in your boardroom – bringing solutions when I can, offering advice when you need it, and applauding your milestones when you hit them.
With each branding project, I do a deep dive into your business values, goals, characteristics, etc., before we even get to the branding phase. After all, the most important part of branding is figuring out who your business is in the first place.
I ask you questions that help you determine who you are, who you help, why your target market needs you, what makes you different, and more! Taking the time to sift through all of these questions sets up a solid foundation for your brand identity right from the start.
Because this beginning phase is so thorough, my clients will oftentimes end up learning something new. Whether that be about themselves or their business, working with a designer will likely answer questions that you didn’t even know you needed answered! Because we take the time to discover these things, you’ll end up even more confident in your business’s values, goals, and mission, than you were before.
Have you ever tried to DIY your own website or brand design, and end up even more frustrated than you were in the beginning? Maybe you ended up regretting that website template you purchased. Maybe paying for your cousin’s artsy best friend from college to design your logo wasn’t the best decision. Or maybe you simply just don’t have the time to learn the nuances of website design and user experience.
Whatever your case may be, there’s a lot of ways working with a professional branding and website designer can not only save you time, but also save you money. In fact, lots of business owners are hesitant when it comes to investing the cost of hiring a designer. They are so hesitant, that they’ll try all the loopholes and alternate avenues that I mentioned above, and then end up spending even more time (and therefore money), than they would if they had just hired a professional designer.
But not only will working with a designer save you money, but it will also make you money. In fact, “consistent brand presentation across all platforms increases revenue by up to 23 percent” (Forbes).
Like they say: “It’s always cheaper to do the job right the first time.” As a designer, I don’t just hand over a couple logos and a new website and say “Good luck!” I research your industry, evaluate your target market, analyze color theories, develop your brand personality, craft your site’s user experience and navigation, and so much more. Understanding the benefits of working with a designer means understanding the monetary value of working with a designer.
Working with a brand and website designer can provide your business with an array of advantages, many of which you might not have considered before. From outside support and business advising, learning critical aspects of your own business, to saving time and money, working with a designer can help you find success in more ways than one.
